Amy is president of Innovative Communication & Training Solutions, a Houston area coaching, training, and consulting firm. She has more than 20 years experience speaking, training, coaching and consulting in all aspects of workplace communication and training.
In 2010, she authored her first book, Practical Communication: 25 Tips, Tools, and Techniques for Getting Along and Getting Things Done. In the book, she offers straightforward advice and provides streamlined tips for dealing with many of life's everyday communication dilemmas.
She embarrassingly admits she was a public speaking drop out in college. However her speaking skills were put to the test when she served for four years in the U.S. Air Force as an Air Force public affairs officer, regularly speaking to fellow military members, the public, and the news media.
Amy has provided coaching, training, and consulting services to a variety of organizations ranging from small private companies, to government organizations and corporations including Texas Children's Hospital, NASA, Marathon Oil, and McKesson Specialty Health. Additionally, she has also served as a speech communication instructor at San Jacinto College.
Amy holds a master's degree in Communication from the University of Northern Colorado and a bachelor's degree in Journalism from George Washington University.
